What is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is a dynamic partnership between coach and client that gives concentrated support to a client to make positive changes to her life, with a focus is on evaluating the present and reshaping it for a desired future. Rather than analyzing past problems and what caused them, life coaching focuses on solutions. It puts you in charge of discovering and creating the future you want, and gives you the support and accountability to help you transform your personal and/or professional life into one of balance and fulfillment. As a result, you may feel more self-confident, optimistic and motivated about life and your chosen future. 

Since you are the foremost expert on your own life, your input, honesty and commitment are vital for a successful outcome. In my role as coach, I will help guide you on your path to fulfill your dream. Together, we will clarify your current situation, explore your options, and create a workable and adjustable plan to move you towards your goals. 

What does a Life Coach do?

A Life Coach works in partnership with you to help you identify what you most deeply want, encourage you to take action, and help you achieve success. Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. We seek to elicit solutions and strategies from you, and believe our clients are naturally creative and resourceful. The coach's job is to ask questions and provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that you already have.

How are the sessions structured?

If we decide to work together, I’ll provide you with a workbook for you to fill out before our first session. This workbook will kick-start your process of clarifying your values, your goals, and your stumbling blocks. Our first session will go over your goals and objectives for coaching, based on your workbook answers. Session content is drawn from the initial objectives that are decided upon, and what emerges in the course of our discussions. Homework is assigned at the end of each session to keep you on track and moving forward with your stated goals.

Sessions last one hour and can be scheduled either every week or every other week, based on your preference. Depending on distance and time constraints, coaching sessions can take place in person, over the phone, or by Skype. I am based in Portland, OR, and if you live in the area, I can meet with you here. Otherwise, a phone or Skype session can be scheduled at a mutually convenient time. 

Why do you work exclusively with women?

On the largest scale, I believe that women hold the key to humanity’s survival. Our innate role as caretakers brings us more easily to a feeling of responsibility and concern for the well-being of the planet and all its inhabitants. I also know that women are not yet fully seen as equals in the world, as evidenced not only in our paychecks but in our level of representation as leaders in all venues from governments to corporations. 

My personal passion lies in empowering women to live the lives that they dream of, supporting them to stretch themselves to new levels of confidence and competence, thereby enriching the world with more of the qualities and priorities that women hold dear. Our work together is designed to bring you into deeper contact with your heart, and bring forth the unique gifts you have to offer the world.

How much does it cost?

To give coaching enough time to see clear results, I request a minimum commitment of four sessions to begin. These initial four sessions cost $350. After this, sessions can be booked individually at $100 per one-hour session, or you may book another series of four sessions at $350.

How can I see if coaching is right for me?

I offer a free, 30-minute sample session so you can experience coaching for yourself, and get a sense of how it feels to you. It also gives you a chance to check out my coaching style and see if both of us feel that we’re a good fit for each other.
